REMEMBERTHEM

Canadian Virtual War Memorial

Canada has lost tens of thousands of soldiers, sailors and aircrew overseas for more than a century. Most are buried where they fell, far from home.  Many families have never seen the graves of their lost family members.

The internet has allowed us to close that gap, preserve the memory of our ancestors and discover a new way to remember Canada’s fallen.

If you want to learn more about someone who died in the service of Canada, you can now (in many cases) see their gravesite via the internet, learn more about their service and help keep their memory alive.  You can also contribute your own photos and information to the project.

Simply visit the Canadian Virtual War Memorial and enter their name find out more.

Please also consider passing this along to anyone who may have an interest in knowing more about one of Canada’s heroes.
